| I have a samsung syncmaster 750s & an asus geforce fx 5200 anyways.. When I'm in 1280x1024 60hz I see wierd refresh lines all over the place. its really annoying. I dont know whats causing it or how to get rid of it. Ive never noticed them before tho. Like on my old monitor and vid cards. I never noticed it with my ati radeon 8500 and this same monitor. I'm not too sure whats causing it. ![]() | ||

| This may seem like a retarded question, but does it happen when the lights are out? Because the power from the wall socket is AC, the lights actually flicker at 60hz. If your monitor is at 60hz, and it isnt synchronized with the lights [and trust me it isn't] you can get interference patterns. Some people are very sensitive to them; I am fortunate in that I am not. If that is the problem, about the only thing you can do is by a better monitor - one that supports 70+hz at the resolutions you want. Is this an LCD or a real monitor? And you say it just started? Have you just moved into a dorm or changed your surrounding lighting? -MF | ||

| yeah it happens when the lights are out and when the lights are on its a regular CRT monitor. You know what ive been thinking tho. I'm not sure if this could be it but its just a thought. The geforce FX cards and probably alot of the new cards have dual dvi ports instead of dual vga...they come with dual vga adaptors and I have both of them on...Ive noticed that with the adapters on the cables are pulling down on them a little too much. Maybe they put too much weight on the card and its loseing the connection? I dont know if that could be the problem. I have the screwed tightend as much as they can be ![]() oh yeah... and nothing really new other than I moved my desk around to an oposite side of my room *shrugs* | ||

| I can... however I haven't touched anything for a while and it seem to be fine right now. So I really have NO idea when it happens or why it happens. right now i'm on 1280x1024 60hz and it seems to be fine I cant think of any ways to test to determine what causes it either. Next time it does happen I will duct tape the cable to the top of the case and see what happens. I have tried adjusting it before and it didn't seem to help at the time | ||

| Does the refresh line look like a barely visible (unless over white background) white line that run from bottom to top? How close are your monitors to each other? I had the exact same problem last week, when I turned one of the monitors off, the problem went away, So I moved the apart a little, problem solved. Put you refresh rate back to default (usually 60) Hope this works, JTK ![]() | ||

| me and Joe the King had a lan party last week and I put his monitor on my desk right next to one of mine. We checked out the refresh rate...... bumped it up to 85hz........ to no avail. However.... when we seperated the monitors it stopped. Somthin magnetic I am sure. It only happend to his monitor. JTK is right........ just seperate the monitors and don't put the monitor too close to your tower or anything magnetic. That's all....... I think......... i guess.......... yup, i'm sure of it, that is all. | ||

| I have that refreshline going down my monitor because of how close my dual monitor is to the primary one but thats not the problem this looks like a smaller version of that line and 100000 of them on the screen at once... i'm looking at them right now Oh and I checked that guys house...apparently he moved out and took his transmiter with him and I checked the VGA wires and it didnt change anything so lost. ![]() | ||

| Uhm, you say that the video card, has dual DVI, right? And you are using the DVI to Analogue adaptors, right? And that the lines aren't REALLY noticeable at 60 hz? Have you tried switching the two DVI adaptors? And what is the tech. info. for the Adaptors? What is the size of the DAC's pipe? (how many hertz) My thought is that the lines are being caused by those(probably) cheap ass Digital-to-Analogue-Converters that Nvidia undoubtly got at some 'bargain' basement price, and passed them off to you. They probably aren't able to keep up with the signal that is comming out of the card. If they are being overdriven signal deterioration like that would show up. Don't ask how I know that. | ||

| I dont know the answers to half of the questions you just asked I just rearranged my room moved my desk to the right side of the room so I'll see if it still happens I remember when my desk used to be on the left side of my room when I had a Viewsonic monitor the screen would shake and when I moved my desk it stopped. So maybe theres something in the wall thats causing it to have this reaction...so I'll give it a day or so and see if it comes up again | ||

You said you have the DVI adaptors on your vid'card. And your CRT monitor is hooked up to the adaptor? Why not see if the interference is still present after you switch the two adaptor you said you have on your videocard, between the two DVI connectors.............. ![]() | |||||||||||||||||||||
