| Ok, I want to know the best way to combine the processing power of two computers. I've heard of setting up a slave computer for audio/video rendering ect. but does anyone know of any software or other methods to actually combine two computers to make one (basically)? If it is possible. | ||

| he is referring to distributed processing; although, i dont think it's anything windows xp and lower can handle...most linux based OS's are capable of doing load-balancing/distributed processes, but it is mainly used for math-co processes, such as graphics and cad rendering..the only way to somewhat make two computers one is to map the drives to show up in your computer.. | ||

| There should be an easy way of doing this but I don't think that there really is. I guess for windows you'd have to run a version of NT 2000 or 2003 server on each machine and set up a cluster, and like Napalm said I found out that it is much easier to set up a cluster with multiple nix boxes instead of windows. Anyways, thanks for the input. If anyone is interested here is a link for the Guide to Creating and Configuring a Server Cluster under Windows Server 2003: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...t/confclus.asp ..............i hadn't seen those last two posts before I posted this Last edited by Bjorn2404; 02-September-03 at 07:43 PM.. | ||
