| Ok so my aunt has a PC thats a couple of years old, they bought Norton Security Suite a a while ago and have paid for the updates for the year, now its completely screwed and refuses to run properly, shuts down the anti-virus after about 5 minutes of web browsing. Does anyone j=know what will happen if I completely un-install Norton and re-install it, will they still be able to recieve the yupdates for the year or will they have to pay again. The really annoying thing is that becuase the antivurus won't run properly they can't access there eMail or alot of sceure sites. Any help would be much appreciated as I'm a norton n00b never having trusted it with my systems security. | ||

| Sempr0n? | Nah, if you uninstall it and reinstall it they'll be fine cos the Norton server will recognise the serial key and think "ah yes these people have a years worth of updates". (that is, *if* you still have the license key, although N2006 at least shoves a copy of it in program files of my documents I think) | |

| Sempr0n? | In My Documents there is a folder called "Syamantec"....that has the license key saved in it with my version. If you can't find the lisence key for Norton and have to install avast then make sure you get them a decent firewall like ZoneAlarm. None of that Windows Firewall nonsense. | |

| Hello Reza i have used Nortons for very long time and never had any problems with until this last year, i had so many issues with Nortons and kept contacting customer service with no little help from them, so i had decided to change to a different virus program called Bitdefender Standard 9 and i tell one thing i wish i would have known about this before i had bought Nortons, this software program just to me is top of the line anti virus program i have seen and read about, if you still seem to have problems with Nortons i would give Bitdefender Standard 9 a try i am pretty sure you will be very satisfy with i know i am , you can purchase a 1 or 2 year or even more year contract and even purchase 1 user up to how many you ever want with them with a extended down load for the time of the user license is to be renew, like in my case i purchase 4 users and a 3 year contract and the contract does not run out for 3 years until the renewal is due and the renewal is a lot cheaper then buying another copy such as Nortons does . Here is the link to the one i am using http://www.digitalriver.com/htmlemai...e_Standard.htm Hope you have better luck then i did on getting you Nortons fix or problem resolved | ||
