| I want to slipstream SP4 into my Win2000 disc. Simple enough, no? I already have the SP4 files. First, I needed a way to get the ISO to work with. After some looking, I find LCISOCreator, and it gives me an image. But now I can't find anything to let me EDIT the image. (slipstream requires removing a chunk of the original files and replacing them with the new version) I see a few programmes talk about editing ISOs, but most of them have 300Mb caps on the shareware versions. A complete Win2000 CD is approx. 350Mb. I suspect the 300Mb cap is deliberately to prevent people getting this service for free. Since I only need it for this one task, it's absurd to spend 30 bucks for a "full version" I'll use exactly once. What is there which is free, or at least a trial of sufficient functionality to let me accomplish my goal? I have a programme to BURN the disc, so that's not an issue. | ||

| Without the context: I want to delete some files in an ISO image, and add new files in their place. I looked at MagicISO; it announces at startup "trial version will not save a file of over 300Mb", which means I'd have to blow 30 bucks for a utility I'd use exactly once. | ||

| Tried a few more. Several stop at 300Mb, so they're out of the running. ISOMagic *seems* to work but produces a hopelessly screwed up image when it finishes writing. Will try a newer version. I get the impression that I should have gotten one of those optical drives that came with a software bundle. I can't imagine EVERYONE has this problem. :/ | ||
