Exclamation Computer wont start...

New computer just put together and all I get is a solid blue power LED to work....

It has
PCCHIPS M861G v1.6a
AMD64 3200+
AGI 280w PSU
Maxtor HDD -tested
NEC DVD-RW
Corsair Value Select 512MB PC 3200 -tested
Elixr 512MB PC3200 -tested
Number Nine 32MB AGP card -needed just for DVI (old!)

Anyways
I get no beeps, and it should at least spin the fans and such. I tried without IDE drives plugged in...

If I had to guess I would say the PSU is the thing gone bad but I don't know...

Maybe 280 watts isnt enough power for your setup... I ran quickly through Fu3lmans Juice calculator and it looked like maybe you need more power.

I didnt know all of your specs to fill in the blanks, but you may want to check that out.

Are your fans plugged into the PSU or the motherboard? I would have to guess that it is a mobo problem.

Are you sure that your power button and other front panel buttons and lights are plugged in correctly?

Try one stick of mem, unplug everything except mombo and fans, then see if u can get in bios. Do u have parts to swap w/? If so swap.

Exclamation

Im pretty damn sure its the mobo now guys... Ugh... I dont want to send it back in...

I tried different RAM, PSU's, drives/no drives, video card/ card, double/triple/quadruple checked cords and everything...

All I got was a stupid blue LED light for power, no fans, no beeps, nothing moving at all. I mean if the CPU was shot the mobo would beep, and the fans would spin up.

Damnit this was for my girlfriend too and now I have to send it back and get owned on shipping...

Should I send it in to PC CHIPS or the company I got it from?

If i were you, id send it back to where ever you bought it. Trade it in for either a msi, gigabyte, abit, or asus board.

I dont know your technical experience with hardware but pc chips motherboards are the lowest quality boards you can buy with the highest failure rate. They have made a name for themselfs as the worst motherboard manufacturer. Im not surprised if that board was doa.

Just a longshot.....
There's a sticker on the memory slots stating to set the jumper to normal mode. Did you remember to set the cmos jumper to the normal position?

Talking

pos rep!!!

what a stupid way to ship a mobo, in a non-functioning way! Also the manual had no orientation to tell which way was "normal" and the other set to "clear"

Anyways works fine now!! w00t
