Default How to backup my DVD's?

Ok everyone I have quite an extensive DVD collection and I want to back them up but I don't just want to put them on new disks and have copies becuase I want to be able o keep them on my laptop and view them without having to change disk all the time.
I use DVD shrink to copy my DVD's to other disk but does anyone know what software to use to backu[p my disks onto my hard disk in a viewable format?

Cheers, Reza

Yeah, I'd really like to know how to do this as well. Having to move out of accommodation at the end of every uni term makes carrying stacks of DVDs back and forth a real pain. Someone suggested to me that I should use the 'Gordian Knot' bundle, but it was so complicated I couldn't work out how the hell to use it.

Reza, you can use DVD shrink to backup your dvd to an ISO then use Deamon tools to mount the image as if it were an acual disk.
If you were looking to compress it into divx format, you could google for a tool called FU (Fair Use).

Admins, your call on whether or not this is ok to post. I figure it was fair game because we are talking about legal backups. If not, my bad.

Rip the files from dvd in ifo mode using dvd decrypter then load the files into auto gk and encode in xvid avi format. You can configure the size too. Most movies will go 700 meg with 2 channel audio but if its a long movie and / or you want 5.1 audio it's best to go with about 1.3 gigs or even more. It's a matter of preference.

Cheers, but the link for DVD Decrypter is dead, they don't host it anymore so you have to go here: http://www.bestdownload.com/view.php?detail=1067
