Default Power Supply not working?

Alright, a idiot friend of mine decided to install a hardrive before he turned the computer off. I was just watching without saying a word to him but then when he tried to plug in the PS to the hardrive the system turned off automatically. Now this is a PS strider and it did not short out any of the hardware in the computer. I brought my computer and it cant power that one up either. It just turns the green light on the motherboard on and it turns on for like 2 seconds when you hit the on button. Any idea how to fix this or what happened?

You just watched and said nothing?
Someone in this story is not a real friend.

You can test the PSU by shorting a green and black lead together.
By shorting the leads together you should be able to turn the PSU on without
the motherboard.

I did tell him to turn it off but he said I know what I am doing. Ends up he scrapped the wire and the PSU took precautionary steps to make sure he didnt kill himself and fry the computer, the latter being more important. Anyways, it is all fine now and I am impressed by the PSU.

Most PSU's have a short/surge auto off system, my 3 to 4 pin fan adaper once tapped the case and my system turned off while i had the door open adjusting some wires, took me forever to figure it out, but my diablotek PSU you had to turn it off and unplug it before it would power on again thought it was dead for hours.
