If it isn't currently set to RAID leave it on ATA. You would have to reformat and start over to use RAID. Raid 0 uses your 2 hard drives as a single unit giving you twice the read and write heads which is suppose to give you better performance. If you are a gamer I wouldn't look for a big performance boost, now if your video editing or sound editing it can have its advantages.

I say if your system is working well at the moment leave it alone.
If you were planning on a format in the near future go ahead and change it to Raid.

I still say for gaming you wont even notice the difference, because most of your performance increase is on the writing side.
when your gaming your computer does a lot of reading

They can be used as either ATA or RAID depending on what your setting is in bios. Seperate cables is the way to go also if you do wind up using the Raid controller

Rebekah, no offense, but are you a chick? The only reason I ask is that there are only 3 other females that are active on this site. I would love to see some more interaction with the other sex. I mean I would like to have some more interface with women. No, I would like to have a differing and new set of opinions and views to this mainly man dominated site.

Oh **** Rebekah, not only am I glad we have another woman on the site, you got one of my all-time favorite girl names. Let's keep that between you and I and leave your boyfriend out of it.

Pimpette and FroggieGirl will be happy that they have a new compadre on this site. Let us all know what your mod plans are and we'll be more than glad to help. The more diversity that we have the better this place is.

grats cashy. raid is da ****. as to not seeing gaming performance increases, im a big mmorpg player (everquest, daoc etc) and i notice a big increase in loading time performance when i zone. when im playing on my scsi raid box, load times are obscenely fast (only 10k drives, damnit i want my 15k cheetahs =/)

also if you dont have a lot of ram in your box raid0 will drastically increase your virtual memory performance. if your fine on ram and dont do a lot of loading, then yes it wont help gaming a whole lot.
