Default Disassembling a Laptop

I'm trying to disassemble a Compaq Presario 2190 notebook, because the temps are sky high so I wanted to clean it out and remove the HSF and apply some AS5 on it. Last night Linux shut off on me because a "Critical Temp" 96c!

So I've removed every screw on it that I could find (About 20 in total) and i can sorta open it up. But it appears the keyboard is still being held on by some screws in the middle which are inacessible.

Does anyone have experience taking one of these or a similar model notebook apart? I looked all over for a manual on disassembling this hunk of crap to no avail.

Any help/ideas/suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks,

when i read that, it sounded like you meant there might be screws in the middle of the keyboard?

While I've never heard of that before, if there are you can just pop off a few of the keys to find out..

Indeed you were correct!

There we two screws which were attaching a panel of plastic to the hinges of the screen right above the keyboard. Popped those suckers out and got to the screws that held on the keyboard. Everything went together fine and I've been running F@H on it since before I went to lunch, and it has yet to shut down.

Thanks for your help, + rep coming to you!

Just in case ya dont / didnt know . If you do a bit of "fudgin' around" on the Dell site , you'll be able to pull the assembly / disammbley manual from them. I dont remember exactly how I did it , but about 6 months ago , I had a lappy that needed work and with some "playin" on thier site I got a manual for the lappy I was workin on.
You need to go to the Autherized repair reseller part of the site, and then just start diggin' and such, ya also gonna need to register If i remember right.

You wanna try taking XPS Gen 2 apart, to get to the motherboard and other internal you have to take the screen and everything off first. A real pain in the ass.
