| While browsing the iternet adn looking at hardware I can't afford I came across this laptop http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_.../version-1.asp adn although I don't need it I was just wandering what the effective speed of the 1.66Ghz Pentium-M actually was? Being a Duo it would be two cores at that speed and I just thought it looked pretty well priced considering its got a X700 128mb card in it. Any opinions? | ||

| Sempr0n? | Firstly you mean the 1.66ghz Core Duo, this is Intel's new line of mobile CPUs. The Pentium M was the last generation. Secondly, the Core Duos pretty much match up to their Pentium M counterparts for performance as they're clocked slightly lower but have a faster FSB. Obviously they demolish PMs in multithreaded apps though. | |
