| Hi Fahye! First off let's see what we can do about this rebooting problem. It's pretty obvious that if the pc wont stay stable in windows. At this point its pretty much a huge paperweight. First thing i would do is test your ram. Download www.simmtester.com and run the full test a few cycles to see if the ram errors out. As for the memory timings lets get this stable before we try tweaking the settings. This could also be a part of the issue causing the instability as well as bad ram. I would set your ram timings to auto. After you run simmtester and find out that your ram is good. Try booting up and see if windows stays up for more than 5 mins. As for the raptor drive.......check all connections, and jumpers. Is the drive detected in bios? If the drive is dead as a doornail and is not spinning up at all. I personally havent tried swapping out the motor/board. Unless, if their's someone else out there that can help you. You might have to consider that data lost forever. Also just a reminder the raptor drives come with a 5yr warranty. So if the drive is dead rma it and get it replaced. This is a start.......Let us know what happens...... | ||

| I did some digging last night on the internet and found this link. This is an excellent link for techies looking for a bootable cd that has numerous diagnostic tools on it. Which in your case has a few memory and hard drive diagnostics programs on it..... FYI: It's free but they are asking for donations for support. Here's a link........ http://ubcd.sourceforge.net/ It comes in a iso image format that you can burn to a cd using nero or other burning software. Once you got your copy turn on your pc and hit F8. It will come up with a bootup menu and select cdrom to boot from the cd....do this on your pc not the dell. Im trying to determine if the problem is software or hardware related. Give this a shot and call me in the morning with your results..... ![]() | ||

| another good program for testing memory is http://www.memtest86.com/ you can download a version that is cd based... to have it boot from cd you need to change the boot order so the cdrom is the 1st device.... however i think your issue is heat related... i would boot into bios... and watch the temps | ||

memtest will give errors if the memory is bad... or wont boot at all .... have you checked your temps yet? after it resets touch the heatsink... if it burns you... well there is your issue =) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
