30 minutes??? That a new one...anyhoo..if you're running win9x, just look in your autoexec.bat and config.sys, there should be two lines that have the word SCAN (or something to do with Mcafee, it changes on different versions) in them, just type REM in front of those lines and it won't scan on boot anymore...

Silly Mcafee, always pullin' ****e like that...

My company uses McAfee in everyone's logon script. Disabling the startup scan might be more difficult than you think. If you go to Add/Remove Programs and DO NOT see McAfee Antivirus (ignore LiveUpdate or something similar), that means it was a networked install. The settings to execute the startup scan aren't on your computer, they're on the server where McAfee is corporate-installed.

You CAN, however, go into your Services and play with the settings there! *smirk* I do, anyway. You can do this:

-Start>Run and type in SERVICES.MSC (in 2K; in XP you can right-click My Computer>Manage>expand "Services and Applications", then click on "Services")

-Double-click AVSync Manager and select "Disabled" or "Manual" for Startup Type

-Repeat for McShield

Hope this helps.

RUNDLL32.EXE is a multifunction program that is very basic and very important to windows. I'm not sure exactly what it's functions are, but it runs when connecting to the net, while playing music, and many other things. Maybe a programmer might know more.

Doesn't matter though. If you meant that, and Rundel 32 was a typo, that's fine. If there actually IS a program called "Rundel 32" operating on your system, I'd find that very suspicious, as several viruses and trojans closely imitate Windows system filenames in order to fool people.

CrystalFonts might only be a conflicting program; it might work just fine when whichever program is conflicting with it, is removed. Time to Add/Remove unnecessary software and maybe check the "Run*" keys in your registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion.
