Default Mysterious shutting down/powering off

I don't know if anyone can help - this is going to be very vague.

A friend of mine just phoned me for help with their PC so I thought I'd see if any of you have any ideas.

From what he has told me, he has replaced the PSU of his machine 2 days ago from Asus 360W to a QTech 550W.

On the first day there were no problems and everything was running ok and temps were stable at aprox 20-30 degrees.
On the second day it powered off whilst browsing the web for no aparent reason. However, he could switch it back on immediately and it was fine until he went to bed.
However, on the third day (today) it was working fine for most of the day and now it keeps powering off and when he powers on again, the same happens after a few minutes.

Without having looked at the machine myself yet, I'm guessing its a faulty PSU. I will be going to see him in a days tome to have a look but wanted to know if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks a lot

Ben

BTW: off the op of my head the setup is..
nForce4 A939 motherboard
PCI express radeon x300 graphics
AMD Athlon 64 3000

I just asked him. He said the 12v was low. This was from the motherboard though, and he said the voltages looked the same with the old PSU. . . .

Either a bad PSU or an overheating problem.
