Default Patch Cable - Cross over cable

Hey ive been looking for a diagram on how to make a patch cable into a cross over ethernet cable, i use to alwasy find them when i didnt need them and now i cant find a good one, so rep to anyone who can find me a good site for it thx.

It wont matter. its how you have the pinout for the wires. all connectors are the dame and all cat cables are essentially the same.

or maybe i didnt understand your question. the diags i showed are both for crossover. a reg patch cable the pinouts will be the same on both ends.

k so can i just cut the wires that need to cross over and connect them.. cuz i hve a patch cable at the moment,

ok, in reality, you only need to cut one end if you can see the color combo at the other end. pretty but it doesnt matter which color goes to which pin. as long as in a patch they match at the end. and the crossover as long as the pinout matches. it sounds complicated but its really not. the key pins are 1 - 2 - 3 -6

Thats not a smart idea. You should really just spend a few dollars on a crossover if u need it so badly. Or if your going to make alot of them buy a crimper and some ends for it and do it right.

I doubt he does considering ends are about a dollar a piece and the crimpers are 30 bucks. I think he wants to cut the wires and solder them which isnt a good idea because it will mess with the twists and can cause problems with data transfer and shielding problems.
