set the reset jumper. pull the CMOS battery, disconnector power connectors from your board. how the power button down on your system for like 15 secs. try that. if it still doesnt work. try doing it again, but leaving it all unplugged overnight.

without the CMOS battery is, the battery will have no way to keep settings at all.

If the BIOS flash screwed up then surely there is nothing to try and restore to? The BIOS is stored on a chip and the CMOS only helps if you screw around with your settings too much. Correct me if I am wrong but that this is what I thought.

Anyway cta, if I am correct then we will need to know your motherboard details. Some out there have built in utilities that allow you to recover from something like this. Otherwise there are people out there who will reprogram your bios chip for you or supply you with a new one. Its not usually too expensive £10 ($20) I think but I've never had to have it done so I don't know.

Pimps - Please let me know if I have been thinking along the wrong lines with the above. Cheers. Dan

I agree with you on how a reset might not fix it. But its the cheapest, easiest fix to try first. Might as well not go into something to complicated if it fixes it.

Sounds like he might have flashed the wrong BIOS on the chip or the flash didn't take......
