Default Network Bridge Problems

So I'm trying to set up a wireless router at my workstation at work, I have a PC there but want to be able to use my laptop wirelessly since the cheap bastards won't put one in.
Few problems:
the office is set up to be MAC adress encripted so I can't just plug the router into the line.

I set up a second nic in my Desktop to use it as a bridge but I can't use the internet sharing utility as the default address that it want's to use is taken up somewhere on the connection already. Is there a way around this or does anyone have any other suggestions? Thank pimps!

Have you gotten this okayed by the IT staff there?
I know I for one would be pissed if someone brought in a wireless hub and opened up our network to the masses. Yes I know it can be secure, but when dealing with DoD they can be anal retentive.

If they do ok it they might even help you set it up IF it is a matter of cost.

I've gotten it oked but I'm not allowed to call the IT company as they charge by the call. We also set up wireless earlier this year and they were fine with it then we got a new IT company and they did this crap but there are too many levels of management between our sound staff and the internet to get anything set up properly. For some reason they decided that a photo and web design company would be the best IT staff to have, go figure.

Also as to open to the public, I work in the boonis and the next closest building is about a half mile in any direction and the road is about a block away, so with the little B router sheer signal strength won't get us that far.
