Default Weird internet problem

Lately my desktop has been driving me to my wit's end. Not but a couple weeks ago it started having this problem where every night from around 8-9 my computer will not be able to open up any web pages at all, it won't let me play online games (such as Guild Wars ), but it will still keep the connection with AIM and work just fine (I even can send stuff to people). The computer does it with both a wireless connection to a router and also a direct ethernet connection to it. I also have no firewalls on at the moment as well as making my computer a DMZ with the router, still no dice. One last piece of info to stir the pot is that my laptop has absolutely zero troubles staying connected. I'm thinking it may be some spyware possibly but don't know for sure if it is that or just possibly some setting I could change.

So the problem happens at a particular time, and only on the desktop. There's a couple of things to look at, and since you have dual systems we can get pretty creative.

Easiest Solution Attempt:
Let's assume it is spyware, run a couple of different spyware apps. I use Spybot, Spyware Blaster, and Adware. See if the problem continues (run some anti-virus software too for giggles).

-OR-

Setup a home network with the laptop acting as a server, then sniff the traffic looking for anything out of the ordinary.

See if shwin32 (is it shwin32? I'll have to double check), is asking to access the internet multiply times. Easiest way to find out is setup your firewall to ask for permission every time it wants to out on the net.
