Usb Hdd/dvd-r

Could I burn a movie recorded/edited on an external HDD on a DVD burner also connected externally? Both will be connected using USB 2.0 with different IDE to USD 2.0 adapters (both of them are internal drives). I need to do this because I'm video editing on a laptop.

Sure I dont see why it wouldnt work - I wouldnt expect it to be speedy by any means but there is no technical difficulties that I see.

I use my LITEON burner with an external drive case and it seams a lil slower I will be putting it back in my case.

I have to do a benchmark someday.

What would be a good program to test external driver?

For peformance figures and software, check my belkin enclosure review ( link in sig).

Yeh theres no reason as to why the PC should reggect burning to that setup...XP would be completly fine about it - USB drive run and function just like internal drives (just not as fast as Aaron says)
