Default Temp files

Yes I know this is a n00b question.....but i've actually never done this before.
Ok so when you run CCleaner or Disk Cleanup, there is a section to remove temp files. Now these files are safe to remove correct? Thanks.

yeah they are safe to remove, especially using programs like CCleaner and Disk Cleanup. Those programs scan for a wide range of temporary (medium level) files. One trick to increasing windows performance, disk space and general cleanliness is to Nix the temporary files on your computer. This is, for example, where windows unzips everything before installing it when your using an installer type program. Afterwards most programs will delete it themselves, but lots of times those programs will leave stuff behind. This is just a small exmaple of what CCleaner does, and the only reason you would avoid deleting those files is if your in the middle of an install that asked you to restart your computer and you seletcted "not now" or you're actually in the middle of one. Best to wait a while before deleting them, but if you haven't run any programs for a while the REALLY important programs store their temps elsewhere.
