| Apex Techie Wannabe | Ok, as the title says, Tech_Pro's Internet Explorer is not working, he asked me to post for him through Guild Wars and this is the message...(He can connect to AIM and Guild Wars though) " i have a problem, i can connect to AIM and Guild wars perfectly fine, but when i try to open any kind of browser it fails to connect (via firefox and Internet explorer) the bug i took off was some email bug, nothing too big and i dont open emails that i dont know, so i have no idea how i got it, the bugs name is "W32.Sober.0@mm" and i have Norton thingy that came with this PC running and it says its protected. when i try to go to google in internet exploere it says "connecting to IP BLAHBLAHNUMBERBLAH" and then it just hangs up. WTF is the problem? and i use Cable Modem on a Belkin 54g router..." His AIM is Sinister AMD and he will respond to IM's if he is on, or you can leave a message here and I'll send it to him. Thanks in advance. | |

| Someone else may have a better suggestion, but I recommend trying Spybot Search and Destroy. If that nets nothing then try using this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | He's already tried Hijack This, and didn't understand it. He said Spybot wasn't working either. Right now he's trying the removal tool mrcracker posted. Thanks for the input. Edit He took off the bug and its still not working. He's also tried firefox if it helps. Last edited by Spawn Camper; 16-June-05 at 06:35 PM.. Reason: Still not working | |

| check if they forced a proxy into the settings. In firefox, Tools-Options-General-Connection settings and make sure http proxy isn't in effect. In IE, Tools-Options-Connections-LAN settings- and make sure a proxy isn't enabled. He should also check to see if his DNS is resolving properly. Open a command prompt and try to ping a couple of sites. | ||
