Partition Magic Ate My HDD

Does ANYBODY have ANY idea how to recover files that were locked during a failed partition merge in Partition Magic? Both were NTFS. Half-way through the merge, I received an error, the process halted. Windows hasn't recognized either partition ever since.

Just restore the backup you made before you started messing with your partitions. You DID make a backup, right?

If not you are going to have to purchase file recovery software and attempt to get back your important data. Then it's time to wipe and reload.

Damn the irony! I didn't make a back-up. No GOOD excuse, but I actually did have my reasons. Luckily enough, I do know a buddy with recovery software. The drive is about to become a slave drive for my system, so no earth-shattering loss, but I do hate to lose everything I had on there.
