Opening a Compressed, Passworded Folder

Does anyone know of a way to unlock a passworded zipped folder? Tried using several different compression programs to unlock it, but it was a no go.

You try the programs for cracking zips or just like WinZip and WinRAR?

Think most of those programs are for files for which you forgot the password. Think it helps you figure it out through encription? For this particular folder I never had the pass. Don't know but will any of those work?

Those programs just try different passwords. Dictionary attack, random letter attacks, etc.

If it's something you downloaded......they usually have the password in the title....
