| Locked Account  |  Disappearing HDD's after a long up time hey guys, i have the following for my system EPOX 8rda3+ ATA 133 cables and the hdd in question is a 40 gb WD, i think...its got a covering over it, kinda like rubber anyways after a long up time the HDD seeems to disappear from windows and i can only get it back by rebooting the whole computer, its kinda gettin rather annoying, so i am posting here in search of maybe some idea's or anyone thats had a simliar problem Happy Mothers day to all the mom's! | |

i know what hdd you are talking about, but i have never seen that before, could it be that is overheating? i dont thinks hdds have auto off, so prolly not. have you tried it in another computer? oh yah, could it be possable that xp's powersaving featurs turn it off? although i dont think you can turn off a harddrive unless the comp is suspended | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
