Default PC won't stay on!

My pc won't stay on! It hasn't done anything like this in a long time. I haven't moved it or bumped it. It just shuts of instantly and randomly, whether I'm working on it or not. Why would this happen? What can I do to fix it? My brother is a hardware wiz, but he can't get over here to diagnose. PLEASE HELP!
Here is a collage of my modded pc.

Have you verified that the heatsink is still properly attached, air intakes not plugged up with dust bunnies, all power and switch connections are properly seated?

As far as I can tell, everything is tip-top. It's not dirty, and everything is plugged in and clear.

Sounds like an overheating problem. Are you sure the heatsink isn't halfway on there?

Do you know what your temperatures are? If not, install motherbord monitor and tell us what it reads

I would like to do that, but it doesn't stay on long enough to do anything. A few seconds and it shuts off, never completely boots up.

Then it's either your CPU fan is not connected properly to the motherboard, and it shuts off for protection, or the heatsink isn't on properly and it is overheating.

pop the case open and see if you can wiggle the heatsink.

I wiggled the heatsink, now it powers up but nothing happens. My lights are red-green on top and green-red on bottom, constant(not blinking).

when you wiggled it, how much play was there? that was supposed to check if your heatsink is falling off or not. if you could move it a lot, its not attached right.

It's on there good, I know that much. I have an MSI K7T Turbo 2 motherboard, but I can't view what the damn lights mean from the manual. Adobe acrobat doesn't want to read the page that has my problem on it, but every other page is fine. Today's sign that the apocolypse is upon us.

Link the page you need and I'll get it for ya...

Could be as simple as a faulty power switch too.
Make sure the power button is of the inermittent type, and is working correctly.
It could be a number of things, so you'll have to use the process of elimination.
A nice clear pic of the inside of the computer would be excellent.

Just use the "additional options" box below the one you reply in.
Click on "manage attachments" under the "attach files" tab...
another window will pop-up and allow you to browse your files,

A pic is worth a thousand words and that'll get us started with some help...

Believe me, I would love to send a picture, but I have no way of getting a picture onto this computer. On my other (busted) one sure, but not here, this is a much older pc. I can't even open the page of the manual because it wants a chinese language pack, but you need adobe acrobat 6.0 for that, and you can't have 6.0 on Windows 98, which is the OS on this pc. Anyone want to get the manual and look at page 18 for me? Tell me what red-green top, green-red bottom means?
My motherboard is an MSI K7T Turbo2.
Thanks to everyone looking and trying to help! It's assuring to know that there are people out there that realy do care enough to lend their time and skills to this.

The first thing I would do after all this wiggling would be to remove the heatsink, clean everything up good and reapply some good Arctic5 heat paste and see what happens from there. This def sounds like a pure heat prob.

For reasons beyond natural belief, it's working fine, for now. I'm now one step closer to believing that AI is real, that it comes embedded in every version of Windows, and that my pc was taunting me, laughing its sweet ass off in binary code. If it collapses again, I'll let you know. Until then, thank you all very much for trying to help. I mean it, you have nothing to gain by looking and replying on these help channels other than some self-worth and you do it so unselfishly, I know that sounds "Full House"-ish, but you really do make the days brighter.

I spoke too soon, as I figured I had. It is again shutting off intermitently. I will do my best to install motherboard monitor to check the temps. I swear I heard it laughing at me...
