Help!! Cant get online

Hi I just got a dell(yeah i know) d600 laptop and I cant get it online. I have tried it all, a fresh install, usb connect, driver downloads, the works! but it still isnt able to get an ip addres.

The Specs
Win XP pro
256 mb ddr(soon to be 512 if i can get it to work)
Broadcom 570x Gigabit intergrated controller
Dell true mobile 1400 dual band

Have you called your ISP?

EDIT - Dell makes great laptops...no shame in owning a Dell laptop...

If your other computer was hooked up to the internet directly to the modem then you will need to unplug the modem and power cycle it. And if that does not help it's probably a ISP issue like Pimp Joose said.

Naw no isp i hate hearing some one read everything i have already tried off of his/her comp screen to me.

yeah I like the dell laptop's too but i thought that there were gonna be a lot of "not a dell!" groans.
