Default wierd cable connection

I was hoping someone out there had some ideas.

For the past 2 weeks or so, I cant get a download higher than 60kBps thru explorer, but for some reason i can hit almost 400kBps on bittorrent. I lag out when i game. the admins seem to get upset when you have a ping higher than 400. I contacted adelphia, and of course they're no help, and i'd rather not waste a whole day for the cable guy to come run tests that will deterimine that i do indeed have a slow connection. 2 weeks ago i could hit 3MBps, i dont know what the deal is

SP2 Firewall is out of the way, as far as i know, and so is the one that comes with norton. I get the same results nomatter what side of the router i'm on.

I'm completely out of ideas, anyone?

powercycle your modem and router: Turn off all comps; Unplug power cord from moden and router; Wait for about 1 minute; Plug in power for modem; Wait till modem is up and plug in power for router; Wait till router is up and then turn on comp(s).
I had the same sort of prob over the summer. I had to get a tech to come out and test my equiptment. It turns out that my modem was going bad, and i had poor cable running into my apartment.
If you absolutely can't figure out what's wrong, bite the bullet and schedule a service call. Good luck bro.

Have you tried flushing your dns at a commmand prompt ipconfig /flushdns? Also some cable may take up to 24 hours to tottaly reset. Such as a motorola surfboard and the 3com shark fin.
