Question FDD Alignment

The primary FDD on my IBM Personal Portable Computer (from 1981) crapped out, I can't get it to boot into DOS. I think I may need one of those old 5.25" floppy disks that would automatically align the drive... anyone have one?

In the olden days only Computer Repair Shops would have them but I doubt any still do.

Damn if that doesn't bring back some memories.

I wouldn't even know the first place to start unless you can find an online vintage computer retailer (wow, vintage just sounded really nasty for some reason) or get extremely lucky at a garage sale.

Here's one more....

I can even remember when those "compact" 5 1/4" floppies were actually 8"!!!

Wait, just found something......HERE!

Good luck.

Rob

Edit: Wow!

$50 to $200 is a bit excessive even to keep a classic piece of equipment in perfect working order. Its a pitty because it was working up until this year. Maybe if I was a professional vintage computer restorer.
