| Pow - Hoe playa  |  bandwith bastards dose anyone else have the problem of the geek up the street playing everquest makeing my pings spike? how about the those damn teenagers and that newfangled mp3 and nappysters and kazzo users? i want to hear you anger! cable internet users know what im talking about. | |

| Apex Master Tech  | I wish DSL would come near me. Right now I'm sitting on Road Runner, and for the first year it was great, nice and fast. They were also brand new, and as most of you know as more and more people keep getting on and the cable company slows its expansion, our bandwidth starts dying. And that's exactly what it's doing around me. | |

| Apex Techie I  | Well you could go satellite connection, fast as hell, and no land lines. Downsides are expensive as hell, lags like a mother, and you have a dish bigger than a primestar. but other than that, rather nice. I had the pleasure of playing with it for a couple months, great if you live in BFE. | |

| Technomaniac Hoe | I live out in the boonies. I have no idea why they brought cable modem service out here. I am the only person on my street that I know of that has it. To make things even better - For some reason, according to a couple AT&T techs that I've talked to - they installed some gargantuan node in my area - bigger than most in the city - and there are almost no cable modem users out here. Damn I love this... Oh - and I have downloads running 24/7 (edonkey) so I guess I'm the type of person everyone else complains about... Hehehe | |

| Potat-Hoe  | I've had 2 cablemodems for around 3 years now. I love it! I had a problem once when one of the reflectors on my node went out (horrible packet loss), but they fixed it right away and no problems since. I've also heard horror stories about cable too, but have not experienced none of them *knocks on wood*. | |

You forgot one of the biggest downsides of wireless/satellite internet: Security risks. It's the easiest to hack into and probably one of the trickiest to protect from outside mischief. | ||||||||||||||||||||
