get on the horn and tell them to shut up

you could try this....

get a sandwich baggie or freezer bag

get a square of aluminum foil thats slightly smaller than the bag

you might have to ground the foil to the chassis somehow, be creative...

put the aluminum in the baggie and seal it up, and carefully wrap it around your sound card, then tape it into place, this will act as a sort of RF shield, however, if you are using onboard audio, then i would suggest you get a new sound card...

What kind of speakers do you have? I am guessing they are cheaper ones as my mom has the same problem at work whenever the police drive by her office while talking on the CB and she has some of those cheap speakers that come with prebuilt computers. My guess is that they are not shielded well, if at all.
Only real solution (if indeed you do have said cheap speakers) is to upgrade your speakers.

well, I guess it could be the mobo's onboard sound with that mobo, but my bet is still on the speakers. It is almost too bad that it is an intermittant problem because if it happened all the time you could know for sure within seconds by just borrowing some better speakers.

if you have a cd audio cable running from the cd rom to your sound card, remove it, its almost unnecesary anymore...

in you rmixer, find the inputs that you arent using, and drop their volumes to dead 0...

this may help as well...

Rather than removing it, just mute it from the Advanced Volume Control. Same effect.

But if you remove it, it makes for better wire management inside your case.

WOW way to resurrect a thread, NOTE: switched to offboard sound ,PCI SoundBlaster 128, works good now and have no problems, also computer was stressing over the onboard sound which resulted in a loss of my 1 GHZ OC, i will try it again tonight and see what happens

NOTE: wire Management isn't a problem i have all the wires neatly twist tied to the frame of the case so theres lots of air flow! and since i have my ducting mod i get twice the cooling effect!
