Default GTA Vice City Ecco

On my new rig I've tryed installing it (GTA Vice City) several times. Everytime i've done that everything is perfect except when I try to shoot a wepon, It eccos and takes time to hear the shells to hit the ground. I've looked for patches but still no luck.. Any Ideas?

Sounds like you might have a driver issue (Any problems in Device Manager showing up?)or maybe a config problem with your soundcard.

Have you tried playing with all the settings in the game control panel? try using both high and low settings.

I don't think it is an issue that requires a game patch, I have had similar problems with other games in the past, and was never the games fault

EDIT: Also make sure your drivers are up to date (Obviously) check Windows Update also...

What version of Direct X do you have? 9c is the latest, and do you have service pack 1 or 2 installed?
Service pack 2 has been known to have some issues with certain games.

Try selecting different Audio Hardware in the sound section of options in GTA:VC.
It will take a little experimenting. dSound3D hardware was the best for my Audigy 2.

Its selecting EAX1 ( compatible with my card) after having it deselected off a fresh boot that makes that happen sometimes, though my soundcard just never liked VC the best.. It was so much worse with my GeForce FX 5200NU though, even through software sound, the game is highly dependant on your videocard ( though VC locks up when I load a game with FPS limiter off! ). I feel that overall, VC is a bit glitchy indeed ( loaded with mods of course), but i'm still bummed about having to turn off fps limiter every time I load and turn it back on for lightning-paced control over your hackjob mod cars..
