Default BIOS error

All of a sudden, my computer presents this error that seems impossible to get rid of. I had recently installed Service Pack 2 and had the computer running perfect for a few days. Then, I go to turn it on one day and it gives me this:

"Radeon 9600 113-(some numbers) BIOS

Bad BIOS checksum. Starting BIOS Recovery...
Checking for CD-ROM..."

So I put in my mobo CD, "Reading file 'P4C800ED.ROM'. Start flashing..." Then it asks to turn the power off and on again to get the system back. Yes captain. Well, it just goes back to the same screen again.

OK, I see it says Radeon BIOS on the top. I switch my Radeon with an old Nvidia. Same screen appears, but now with the Nvidia copyright at the top of the screen. Running out of options, I replace the hard drive too. Nothin. I'd appreciate any help. I'm also going to try taking a look at the motherboard itself. It seems like the problem lies in the mobo. Hopefully someone can pinpoint my problem.

Thanks.

The system trys to recover BIOS from a CDROM?
Interesting...usually asks for a floppy, try burning the latest
motherboard BIOS (ROM) to a CD and using that.

It asks for a floppy first, but I had the CD present, so that's why I did not mention it.

I've downloaded the latest BIOS from the ASUS website and put it on a floppy, renamed the file to "P4C800ED.ROM" and it finds it, flashes, and says its complete and to reboot (and I took the CD out). After restarting, it brings me back to the same screen.

It's possessed I tell ya!

Bump

What I guess I'm trying to ask is: "Has the s*** hit the fan? Am I completely screwed? Is my 'new' mobo worthless now?"

SP2 must have f...lipped me over. I can't even get into the BIOS screen, nor a DOS screen. The windows logo doesn't even show. It only goes to that one and only error screen.

Power off, battery out, power on, off, battery in, power on

Same screen.

Edit: Cleared BIOS by setting the jumper to the alternative, then reseating it to its proper place. And you guessed it, the same screen appears.

Same screen.

If you have tried multiple times to flash the bios and it doesn't take, your mobo is toast.

Probably, so far SP2 has been fine for me. I think I just jinxed myself by saying that.
