Well not sure where this should go so here it is.
I just bought Acronis trueimage echo workstation with universal restore what I want to do is make a disk image of our laptop and install it on our desktop. Now before you ask I can not just install all the software on the new desktop because the guys at the office were not smart enough to save the software updates for their programs, and they have no disks of the programs anymore, so that idea was shot long ago.
With the universal restore program I am supposed to be able to install the image on a different
PC with a different hardware config. I made the disk with all the
cpu, chipset, and other important drivers so when the program asked for them I would have them to install. The problem I am having is that when I go to install the image on the new
PC it says file is corupted. I know it is good because I checked the image archive with Acronis and it says everything is ok. So do any of you know anything about this program, and do you have any helpful hints to make this work? Some other person told me to use Belarc Advisor, but after downloading the program I don't see how this should help.
I hope someone out here can help, this has been kicking my butt for a few days now and I realy want to get this figured out.
Thanks
Hunter
