DVD Burner

So,
I picked up a DVD Burner, Lite-On.
Its installed and runs fine, or so I thought.
I used one program to copy, "one to one", a DVD with a buddy's Wedding Photos and it works fine.

Yesterday I tried to use NERO 6 to burn a CD on the same drive. Just a bunch of Photos.

Here is the Problem. NERO is telling me it cannot burn to that drive as it is being used by another program.

I did the usual, hunt for other programs running and such and also reboot.
No Dice!

Has anyone seen this before? It could be NERO but I dont have another decent burning program.
Any help would be great

Was the nero installed already or did you install it with the burner? If it was installed already Id say try reinstalling the nero and try it again.

I second that Maverick. Also try disabling IMAPI (Windows) CD-Burning Service in Services.msc.

Duck.
Along the same lines...On My Lite-On CD-RW,DVD-ROM unless I use windows to eject the disc, the next time I go to use the drive, It will display the title to the previous CD, and not run the new disc...I've had to reinsert the previous disc, eject via windows, then run the new CD or DVD. I have no idea in hell why either...

Nero doesnt even show i have a dvd burner ,so im out i have been using xpress and no problems,also if you do a search on cd freaks.com for lit on burners if its the 411 you have you can change the book type to burn as a rom that might help you out ,just a suggestion .you have to update your firmware i think i still have the program for the bookmark switching ill look if you are interested.or try to refind the link.

AAHHHHHH!!
Trying the suggestions, anyone else have ideas?

No dice with the IMAPI into manual start mode

If you have Nero and and Adaptec (Easy CD Creator) burning app both installed on the machine, that could be the problem. They tend not to get along.

Are you running any monitoring programs that would be using the IDE channel - such as checking the SMART info on your hard drive. I use HDD Health to keep an eye on my HD temps and such - when ever I start it while burning it hoses my burn.....although if its already running its fine. Just a thought.

Thank you, ive been at it, searching thier forums. I Posted and hope I can figure out what the heck is going on with this thing.
BTW Lite-On doesnt even list the 440D on thier website...

Maverick Apex Elite Expert Tech	Was the nero installed already or did you install it with the burner? If it was installed already Id say try reinstalling the nero and try it again.
