Default Weird problem with Dlink router

I bought a DLink Dir-625 Wireless N Router last summer and had it setup and my mothers house while I staying there. I have just brought it home to replace my old Linksys B router (never had problems).

I am running 3 computer
Desktop Pc(wired)
Desktop Pc wireless B adapter card
MacBook Pro (Wireless)

When I hooked the router up, I automatically reset it and reconfigured everything. All computers are assigning Ips automatically so save trouble. I am am to use the wired computer to surf. It seems as soon as I enable WPA I am unable to get internet on the other computers. The desktop pc just sits at waiting for network and my MPB can connect but I get no internet connection.

I have restarted the router many times and tried configuring it. This router has been working for my mbp while I have been at my mother and both are using rogers. Can it be all of sudden faulty. The wireless pcs are picking the signal 100% but will not access the internet. I`m very lost. Occasionally My wired pc looses its connection and will not receive anything.

Quick update: I have the router at defalt settings, no password. ONly my mpb will not get internet but I amble to connect to the network.

You still have to enter the SSID on the client computers. I assume you are using XP or Vista, go into the control panel and try running the Wireless Configuration Setup Wizard.

use a paper clip & reset the router & the modem (little hole in the back) wait until every lights comes back on & then get into your router & do all your setup in there , now you should have no problem connecting to the internet.

often when i install a router for someone i've got to reset the modem also in order to connect to internet little thing a learn with experiences

works for me anyhow.

I have already made friends with the reset button like 10 times today. This is very weird everything is set to default yet no internet on mbp plus the router likes to reset it self every so often.

Hate to be a hardware snob here but personally I have always had problems with D-Link gear. Their routers always seem to get real damn hot and die.

Really, although ive only had one of each, i have never had any problems with d-link(current wireless router), but lynksis(last wireless router), that piece o crap would constantly stop talking to my laptop, and i would have to reset the router to get it back up.

sorry! to hear that , you did the reset on the MODEM to & not only the router , right?

as for as your router setup , you are using WPA with a key that you wrote down something like this 3DF?!ghl etc...(8-12 characters is enough)
then go enter that same key on every wireless pc that you want to connect to your router (internet)
but dont use any type of softwares cd to do this , do as BigAkita said Windows XP or Vista comes wireless ready & they work great

why did you replace your router if it was working all good?
hope you still got it you may have to keep it a little bit longer

One thing you might want to check seeing as you were using wpa make sure now that you have all authentication turned off and remember there are 2 types of authentacation one you have to use a server to authenticate maybe your macbookpro is looking for a auth server?

You should also check that your key on the router is encrypted with hexdigit or not, and if it is, make sure the key you put on any of your wireless devices has the same encryption method. The other day i couldn't figure out for the life of me why i couldn't get my uncles mac on my wireless network. Turned out whenever i tried entering the key on his mac, it was the actual key, and i entered it with hexdigit on the router(which was my only option, im not sure how there managed to be something different on his mac). So on his mac i went to enter the key one last time, and a selected hexdigit, put it in, and viola.

Edit: I am also using WPA, since my laptop doesn't have WEP protection
