| Yeah I've got it going. Using windows "Computer Management > Disk Management". I just thought that my motherboard would do a hardware RAID but i guess I was wrong it just accelerates when windows has the drivers installed oh well at least it gives me what I want and that is redundancy! | ||

| software raid 5. ick. when booting, you will see an option for both of the raid controlers you will want to go into the options for the 1st one also on the motherboard there is a cluster of 6 sata ports. make sure the drives are pluged into there and not the orange one and esata port once inside the raid menu, u can set up the raid, please note you will loose any info on the hard drives. For a raid 5 setup you will need 3 disks, the raid will be the size of the smallest disk. so if you have a 80gb, 250gb and a 500gb, windows will only be able to use 160gb. this works, i had a raid 5 setup before... now i have backup software and dont see the need. | ||
