connection timed out! on multiplayer games.

I just got new high speed internet and it sucks.. Its cable connection. When i play any multiplayer game my connection keeps getting timed out! it also does it when im using messenger or on web pages. how can i fix this?? im connected to a home network it also does it on my other computer.

Call your cable company and complain. It's probably something to do with their equipment.

I forgot to add something. i can play for about 5-10 MIn then it gets timed out...

Need the following answers before anyone can help you out:

What geographic region are you in?

What cable company?

What kind of equipment are you running on? (CPU, NIC, cable router, whole gammut)

What games are you playing?

Do you run Vista? My friend couldnt connect to ANY online game, but could surf the net just fine. We tried everything reinstalling vista, drivers, called everyone and ended up installing XP on his machine and it worked!

I live in wisconsin my cable company is Merrimac they are kinda a new company.. i got a nvidea motherboard NIC. linksys router CPU AMD64 3500 im playin FEAR. CS I have XP i did a fresh install a few days ago..

I had this happen to me almost a year ago. It'll work fine for 5-10 minutes, then it time's out. If you're clever you can keep "repairing" the connection before it times out to keep your connectivity, but that's a PITA. I replaced my NIC, which worked fine for a week or so, then whoop, out it went again. Fresh install of Windows yielded the same problem. A few days of it fine, then it would start dropping out again. It ended up being the cable company, nothing to do with my computer.

Ok im gonna call the cable company up. It has to be them then it does the same thing on my other computer
