Default Resale price for monitor

I've been trying to flog my now-unneeded Samsung 206BW monitor locally. It's a pretty new LCD, no dead pixels that I know of. (I got a bonus, which meant I got the 24 I originally wanted.)

Considering they're USD 250.- to 300.- new, and it's a current model, I first asked for 200.-. I honestly paid 200 when I got it at a once-a-year sale as loss leader.

I got no bites, just one smarmy "You can get a new one for 299.-" and one "will you take 100?".

I tried again, at 160. I got one "will you take 125?" and two more offers of 100.

Is it unreasonable to expect 150 for this monitor? I asked 200 initially, honestly, in the assumption I'd be lowballed with an offer of 150. It seems hard to believe a used 20" wide LCD is only worth 100.

I don't want to ship it, but if someone is in the Phoenix area, PM me.

I would say that it depends on how long you are willing to hold on to it as far as what you will get for it (though wait too long and you might not even get $100). I dont think $150 is that bad for a 20" lcd. It sounds reasonable to me, though $200 is pushing close to the edge of what I think anyone would really pay a random person for a used screen.

I dont know where your from , but here in San Jose Ca. unfortunatly the $150 asking price is high. I know its a 20" but for one inch less and new you can get a 19" wide screen at frys , not a Samsung but most people dont know WTF refresh rate, resolution etc etc even mean so brand names dont matter as much as price tag.

Honestly , the resale value of LCD's is really bad, my advice either just hold out and maybe someone will bite or keep it and use it as a second monitor.

sucks, I know.
