Default I hate wireless...

I have a WMP54G linksys wirless adapter on my pc and in our office we have a 108G D-Link router. For a long time the connection was fine (at least as far as wireless goes) but then recently i started getting disconnected more and more, so we tried setting up a new network. Now i dont get a connection at all but i can see the wireless network. Also the SSID is "Viking Network" (go minnesota!) and it pops up on the list as "default". We are runing WEP but the password is entered correctly and the key is provided automatically. I know the modem is fine because our laptop and the main computer both have internet, and the laptop is connected to this network fine. Is there anything in settings i need to change or wil i maybe need to buy a new adapter?

Default Re: I hate wireless...

Wireless can be a royal pain....

1. make sure any changes you make to the router are saved. If the SSID is still default something is not saving properly.
2. Try setting the router for a different frequency. There are usually 12 channels you can pic from and the default is 6. I have used 2 in the past to great effect when there are numerous other wireless devices (cordless phones) in the area.
3. Try connecting to the network with another wireless device
4. Try disabling all the security and leave the network wide open and connect. If you connect like that then it is an issue with something in the way you configured the two devices.
