Default jedi knight 2 installation woes

Ok, basically i borrowed a disk from a friend, but it was fuxxored.. got to 94% and gave me a cyclic redundancy check error... now that i have a good disk its giving me even more grief... what happens is when i go to the install button on the auto run, it goes through the loading of install shield then goes to the uninstall.. i figured it was just something left ofer from before. but it does it every time, even if i tell it to remove the program... Help!

if it found the crc error on just one file, you might be able to look on the good cd and just copy the file directly from it to your program directory...thats one

if the files on teh cd are packaged up and require the installer to extract them, you might try completely deleting the directory, and then opening regedit (go to start, then run, type in regedit and press ok) then doing a search for "jedi" or "lucasarts" and if there are any keys, delete them, they are probably telling windows that the program still exists and must be working, and since the installer also has an uninstaller...AND the application is to the operating systems knowledge actually installed, then it will try to uninstall it as its default action...thats two...

you can also try installing it to a different directory

hope these suggestions help
