Default CMOS Question

hi, been lurking at PR for a while but just joined this week. quick intro: i work construction at an appartment complex with over 1500 units. i find lots of PC's in dumpsters that i take and most of them run (dont know why people toss em). nothing really good, but i like to mess with them. the ones that arent good, i salvage parts and/or use to practice modding on so i dont kill my good ones.

heres my question. i found a P133 yesterday with lots of goodies in it (was in the rain, but let it dry and it works) but the CMOS battery is dead. i cant for the life of me find it. it doesnt have a coin cell, 4.5 alkaline, 3.6 2pin solder on, or a PS2 lithuim. anyone have an idea? right now im on a low budget and im pretty new to modding hardware so id rather experiment with fully functional junkers and not fry my P4 2.53 that i use for my bussiness. sorry for the long post

Dude, you got the model number of the board? Can you post a pic of the board? Anything?

it looks like in the top left pic on the left side by the expansion slot covers you can see a BIG ROUND diagram on the board. On some older boards they were actually powered by a couple AA batteries. Look for some kind of 2 pin connector in that area.

I had a really old AT i gave to a friend which had the CMOS battery on an ISA card. Similar to yours it didn't have one on the mobo directly. I just soldered one on. Werks fine. I had a spare battery clip, but they should have 'em at Radio Shack or a local supplier.
