Compaq restore disk problem.

Hello I do not know much about computers and sure could use a little help.

I was given a Compaq EVO D300 mini tower that originally came with Windows 2000Pro.
I know this is an old computer but i can't afford a new one now.

I called Compaq and ordered the restoration disk and gave the lady all the ID numbers on the computer sticker.
Then the lady asked 2000 or XP Pro and of course I said XP thinking she was giving me a choice.
The XP restore disks arrive and when installed it says:
"Compaq Restore CD Error
This version of the Compaq Restore CD does not support the system on which it is running"

Is there any way to make the computer load the XP restore disk?

I would get back in touch with them and let them know they sent you the wrong disk.... its probably set in that CD which systems it will work on..... but im not sure of that

Thanks for the reply.
I had to pay another $12 to have Compaq send the correct Win 2000 restore disk.
