The wires are real thin, but yes, you can re-solder the wires back together.

yeah, its a pain in the ass- BUT there may be a way to save you ALOT of trouble, at a lochal junk shop the have VGA cable that were meant to go into monitors, but they were some extras, they have a connector on em that can snap right into a board on you monitor- i unfortunetly was doing this to an old acer monitor (they even made their own motherboard form factor, so who knows how little attention they pay to standard) and the conector had different layouts but this could potentialy save you some time, if you took a pic of this connetor (it inside the monitor) i may be able to send you one for a few bucks, and you'd need the cable anyway in order to resolder a new connector judging by how much room to the conector you have from the break in your red wire.

otherwise, soldering is not THAT much work, most of the wires are color coordinated, like pink/grey pink/ blue/ grey blue there were pairs like that on mine, but the then there are a bunch of mismatche ones, it easy to just get a multi meter and just check which wires go were, it takes around an hour to do, but hell, thats better that having to get a new monitor

and also the connectors i can get look identical to the one in the picture, though who knows what that means

oh, and BA, the wires are not very thin at all, they are the size of a regular wire, theres less than 12 i think
