Default Blue screen of death, NEW COMPUTER

I just put together a computer for my fathers work. This is probably the 10th computer i've put together and usually have no problems. This time I've got a big one. It was a barebone from TigerDirect, put everything together, booted it up, and as its loading to install XP i get the error screen (BSOD). I take the hard drive out, and install XP on another computer put it back into the barebone and get the same error.

This morning i go out and buy another stick of ram, nope not the ram, still get the same error. I have no way to check the motherboard or cpu (dont have another computer with a 775 socket). Basically thats what i've narrowed it down to, unless one of you see something i'm missing.

The error message is as follows
Quote:
STOP:0x0000007E (0xc0000005,0xf75830bf,0xf7993208,0xf7992f08)

Any help is apprecaited

Seems to me like it could be the mobo or CPU by what you have tried. Like you said, you would need an extra of each to test them for sure.

Please keep us posted on your success with Tiger, killer. I am very curious how they currently handle their customer service.

simple solution

go ahead and install XP on another machine ...

do the registry edit thing

http://forums.pcapex.com/hardware_ad...rive_to_a.html

place the hard drive back into the barebone and see if it starts up

if nothing works, RMA it

well tiger changed their hole customer service... they use to help you solve the problems now they just direct you to the manufacture. I'm returning the motherboard in hopes that will work. It doesn't seem to be a software\hard drive problem seeing as it wont load into anything (even tried a live cd of linux).
