Default XP taskbar is screwy....

I just got done hooking up my new comp today and downloading all the software and other stuff I had on there before and I've been trying to get it just how it was before, but I've hit a bump in the road. My taskbar won't go into WinXP style, so I can't alter it. No matter what I do it refuses to stay in any other style but Classic. I've had it all custom before the formatting and I'm pretty sure I'm just overlooking something, but if anyone could help me out I'd appreciate it.

BTW I copied/pasted the themes I had on my other setup directly into this one and the only thing I've downloaded that could have any effect on the WinXP styles was the uxtheme.dll patch thing (which I did last time). Here's a screeny of what I'm talking about:
(Sorry about the size....I tried resizing but then you couldn't read any of the text)

Was the taskbar showing as Classic on your first boot up Anon?

I ask just because I had a similar problem recently after installing Xp on one of my sons Pc's. I did a repair installation and seemed to do the trick, and allow the normal Xp styles.

I've never personally had any problems with the uxtheme.dll patch myself, and been using it for a couple years now on numerous rigs.

That's my main problem....I can't remember.

But I don't think it ever did go into the normal XP taskbar.

How would I go about doing a repair installation? (When it comes to windows I just follow the on-screen instructions) If it means having to reinstall the OS....I'm just gonna have to say screw it. Too much work already.

I just rebooted with the Xp cd in, and it gives you the option to Repair the installed OS along the way somewhere. (I know thats kind of a sketchy description, but I dont remember either...lol)

Are you using StyleXP at the moment? If so, reenable everything, and reboot.

If no, go into properties, it may need to be enabled as a display property style.
