Default Looking for a good backup tool

I need some good backup software. I'm backing up some stuff onto my external harddrive. I've been having a difficult time trying to find a software that will synchronize (Not have to overwrite each time i want to backup, only backs up files that have been changed or new files). Any help would be much appreciated.

I use Norton ghost 9 for my backups - you can do incrimental backups with it
basically, it takes a full backup of the files/folders/disk (whatever you specify) and only backs up the changes to them (making backups quick)

I'm sure there are better (and cheaper) products out there, but that one works for me

Norton Ghost is very easy to use amd is even easy enough for my grandpa to use (true story). That being said and assuming you have a (full) large hard drive, I would recommend finding an external drive that supports a SATA connection. Otherwise, you'll be waiting a couple/few hours using a USB/Firewire connection.

For file backups I use the freeware version of SyncBack and for imaging windows drives I use Drive Image XML

Here's a good backup utility that of course isnt freeware but its pretty darn good.

Ive seen it going around for $40 if you search around.....

This program actually saved my company laptop data. I had a failing hard drive in my laptop. Bought a new latptop hard drive, also picked up a usb to ide cable and reimaged the drive through the usb port. Now that's pretty kewl!

It's worth a look.....Check it out!

Though this is an older thread, to fit what the original request was for, I have to say Microsoft's SyncToy Powertoy. I use it to run my daily backups and it has worked like a charm for me.

Synctoy is an awesome app!

I've used it in the past to back up my music to an external disk - quick and easy to use (can't believe I forgot about that one!!!!)
