Default Windows XP Installation Removal

In an effort to get a large hard drive working after many failed attempts, I ran the Windows XP installation to see if I could use it to partition the drive. I finally got the drive working, but the problem is that now I have a menu to select the installation at startup. I removed the installation line from boot.ini, but it hasn't changed anything.

Here is a copy of my boot.ini
[Boot Loader]
Timeout=5
Default=C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

Any help would be appreciated... Probably a registry value I'm missing.

change the default line to the following:

Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S

then set the timeout to 0 - that should do the trick...

Why would you even risk trying to partition your Harddrive with the Windows XP Installiation Disc? You really should get a copy of Partition Magic...it's an awesome program.

Fantazmic2, I tried partition magic, and quite a few other applications with no luck. I finally figured out that the problem was a jumper problem because I was orienting the key the wrong way. A very small problem that I've already smacked myself on the head a few times for.

Edit: Also note that this was on a fresh format... There was no risk of losing anything to the installation.
