Default Ripping Epidoes off of DVD?

Ok so I just finished watching the last ever Stargate SG1 episode, this has made me feel very nostalgic of the last 10 years and so i've decided I want to backup my Stargate DVD collection to make them easier to view at will. Now I know how to backup and entire DVD using DVD Decryptor and Auto GK but how do you take individual episodes off of a DVD?

PS: I own all these DVD's, just want to back 'em up!

PPS: Can a staff member please change my title to the say episodes, I can't type to save my life.

You rip the DVD as per usual in DVD Decrypter, then open up AutoGK and then go to 'input file', then the file headers for the episodes are the ones labelled "VTS_0X_0.IFO" (where x is the episode number), then click ok and the rest as per usual I think. Obviously you have to rip each episode individually.

MMMM Stargate. Looking forward to the two movies of SG-1 but the ending of the last season of Atlantis was painstaking.

I think DVD Shrink is really helpful when trying to get specific episodes/chapters off of a DVD.

I don't know much about DVD Shrink because I usually rip whole disc images but, DVD Shrink is the program I've seen mentioned specifically for what you're looking to do.

A quick google search should give you plenty of information about the program. I know afterdawn.com is also a very helpful forum for answering questions about ripping/burning.

Good Luck!!

This is my favorite subject!

To get the DVD movie file (.vob):
Free-Codecs.com : Download DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 : DVD Shrink is software to backup DVD disks

Free-Codecs.com : DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 : DVD Decrypter is a free tool which enables you decrypt and copy a DVD to your hard disk

Compress the .vob (dvd movie) file:
Download AutoGK (Auto Gordian Knot) 2.40 : AutoGK is a very simple and powerfull tool for making DVD rips.

Resources:
Doom9.net - The Definitive DVD Backup Resource
Free-Codecs.com :: Download latest audio codecs, video codecs, codec packs and tools, FREE!

If you go this way you will not be sorry this stuff is very easy to use
DVD Decrypter is a little more advanced than DVD Shrink
I would suggest you use DVD Shrink because it is simple and good

To use DVD Shrink: (don't forget to set it up for a directory and tell it not to use multiple files for single VOBs)

1) "Full Disc"
2) "Open Disc"
3) "Re-Author"
4) All episodes should be grouped towards the middle DOUBLE CLICK THEM
5) Check audio tracks and subtitles "Compression Settings"
6) If you are all set click "Backup!"
