speed fan

Normally i use speed fan to check my temps n fans n stuff but on this system i have now when i run the app the computer shuts down. there is alsa this lil issue of my ati control center not initialising when the computer starts up. and i can't open it manually either. any thoughts.

Had the same problem with SpeedFan, put this in the target of the shortcut and it seemed to work:
/NOSMBSCAN

(If you don't know how to put it in the target of the shortcut: right click the shortcut, and click properties. Then there should be a textbox called target, just paste /NOSMBSCAN after the quotation marks)

ADD: 0000438: When launching Speedfan my computer shuts off - Almico's Bug Tracker this should also be of some help with speedfan.
