well are skool just gave away pcs (old ones) and i found a old server it works has cpu,psu,ram,hdds,cd-r,fdd ect, well anyways i was wondering if i could hook it up with my pc and backup things on it

Install (if necessary) an OS, configure it to sit on your network, and go to town.

It depends on what you want to do with it.

A little bit of punctuation and grammar would help too.

But anyways, install an OS (if needed) and network that thing. Make sure you've got enough hard drive space for your storage needs too.

You could back things up on the old the server but its dependant on what operating system is installed. Plus if its really old skool you may only have 1 or 2 gig drive in it. So it's really up to you.....

So what are some specs of server you acquired for free........?

Mmmm now i don't know if it works or not i plugged in the moniter but noting happens and the psu fan doesn't spin but the outtake fans work and i plugged in the cd drive and it won't open does any one know wats goin on

yeah well its pretty damn slow but it has a intel 166mhz cpu,6 sticks of ram don't know how much and 3x30g hdds and the model is hp netserver e 30

ok the psu just blew out and i don't know wat to do with the rest of it any suggestions

Take some pictures, get as much info on the parts as you can, and head over to the Trading Post. Maybe make some cash to upgrade your current rig or do some modding.
