Bios temps not accurate? Windows Got you down? Well Ive got the soultion-Remeber the guy that watercooled his PC? Well he made a very accurate LED temp indicator.
(1C accurate)

I just found my next project

Of course, electronics is a must in order to build it.. or atleast to program it..

Dont like Red LED displays? Well you have many choices, Green, Orange, Yellow, Blue Or the classic-Nixie Tubes.

Dont Like LED displays? Why not use an LCD screen instead? You can find the source all over the web, and in some books.

Basically, The PIC is a microchip, like you cpu. Inside the chip it can convert an analog signal (such as voice)into binary. It takes the voltage the LM50 chip produced, converts it into binary, and displays it onto the LED display.

If I had a place the to get the parts, Sure. All they are are custom made Volt meters. Im sure I could find round volt meters some where.

It wouldnt be as complicated, since your only measuring the voltage OF the sensor itself. But thats only 1 sensor, the link I posted can monitor 4 Places at once.

Not bad, but look at this one:

Now that would look sick inside of a computer..

Also I am sure you could find all the parts to make one like that (or one like you found) in a Radio Shack Master Catalog. That thing is massive and has some really cool DIY electronic type stuff. They even had a book on how to make your own speakers, not just the speaker box but everything.

Good job on the find, though. this looks like a very practical mod to add to a rig. Good Luck on it!! Definitely following this thread to it's fruition.

Just a note, A programmer is needed in order to program the chip. No matter though, you can find it on the web for free and works just as good as the ones you can buy.

Hmm Im estimating this thing to cost 25 Bucks, and thats off the top off my head.

Break down-
PIC-2-3 bucks
LED Display 50 cents to 10 bucks
Everything else is small stuff that shouldnt total maybe more than...err 5 or 10 bucks?
